IADB PARTICIPATION IN THE CENTSEC 2016
From 6 to 8 March in San Jose, Costa Rica, the Organization of American States (OAS) through the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) has been represented in the "Central American Security Conference 2016" (CENTSEC 2016) participating in the event Gral. BGDA. D.E.M. Jaime Avalos Gonzalez, vice president of the Council of Delegates of the IADB and Colonel Francois La Boissonniere, Chief of Staff of the President of the Council of Delegates.
The event was led by President Luis Guillermo Solis of Costa Rica, having discussed priority issues of interest to the Region of Central America, such as fighting organized crime, respect for human rights, violence and corruption, having IADB had the opportunity to present to attendees of this important event conference entitled "IADB'S CONTRIBUTION TO STRENGTHENING THE REGIONAL CAPACITY AND PROMOTING COOPERATION TO MEET EMERGING THREATS".
The participation of the IADB in that conference provided an excellent opportunity to show the representatives of the member delegations of this Conference as Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic, as well as the invited delegations such as Canada , Colombia, Chile, United States and Mexico, the tasks that is focused by the Inter-American Defense Board to assist in the security of our nations. the event was sponsored by the Southern Command of the United States to through Admiral Kurt W. Tidd.
