IADB is visited by delegation of students from Perry Center

On Thursday July 16, 2015, the IADB was visited by 51 students from 17 countries, members of Caribbean Defense and Security Course, issued by the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies.

The Perry Center is an academic organization, under the National Defense University (NDU), created in 1995 by then Secretary of Defense William J. Perry, whose aim is to promote courses, seminars and research, to establish a security net and defense among western countries.

The course was received by President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, Rear Admiral Gonzalo Rios Polastri (Peru), who welcomed them highlighting the important role played by the IADB as a hemispheric body on military and defense issues. A presentation by the General Jaime González Avalos (Mexico), Vice-Chairman of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, in which he addressed the history of the establishment of the Board, its mission, tasks and role in hemispheric security is then performed and particularly in the Caribbean.
