President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Peru visits IADB

As part of the tour of work done in the United States, on Wednesday January 13, the President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Peru, Mr. Pedro Cateriano Bellido, visited the House of the Soldier, headquarters of the American Defense Board (IADB).

 

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers was accompanied by the Ambassador Permanent Representative of Peru to the Organization of American States, Juan Jimenez Mayor. Both were received by the President of the Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board, Mr. Vice Admiral (Peru) Gonzalo Rios Polastri, by the Director General of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board, Major Brigadier Air (Brazil) Mauricio Ribeiro Gonçalves and the Vice-Chairman of Delegates, Brigadier General (Mexico) Jaime González Avalos.

 

During the meeting issues such as making the IADB coordinated with the various components of the OAS, preparing to optimize the response to natural disasters, linking with the Conferences of Ministers of the Americas, the specialized conferences addressed Forces military, and other security and defense forum where experiences are collected and developed best practices in the Hemisphere are distributed. The Premier acknowledged the effort that the Inter-American Defense Board regarding Building Measures Confidence and Security in the Hemisphere. He acknowledged the great strides in academics to achieving the recent accreditation of the Master of Science in Defence and Security of the Inter American Defense College (CID).

 

After the visit, the authorities went to the room CAMI (Centre for Information Analysis and Monitoring), which is a situation room where monitoring takes natural disasters that are occurring in the hemisphere.

The President of the Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board, Mr. Vice Admiral (Peru) Gonzalo Rios Polastri, offered support to Peru to act as a facilitating agency upon the occurrence of a natural disaster.
