The IADB participated in the November 12 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, at the meeting of experts XII CDMA (Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas).
The IADB has sent two representatives to this meeting aimed to discuss the themes proposed by the Secretariat Pro-Tempore of Trinidad and Tobago with academic member countries and observers.
The meeting was attended by 15 countries plus the IADB and other academic and non-governmental entities.
The countries represented were Argentina, Barbados, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago and United States of America.
The meeting was opened by the Minister of National Security, Major General (R) Edmund Dillon. The work was led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Security and Secretary Pro-Tempore XII CDMA, Mr. Carl Francis and the Chief of Staff, General Phillips-Spencer.
The IADB has specific mandates of the OAS to allow their involvement in technical and administrative tasks in support of the Pro Tempore Secretariat of the CDMA. For this event in particular collaborations were presented through the documents produced by the body of technical advisers, with due support from the Council of Delegates.
According to regulations of the CDMA, the themes will be submitted for discussion and formal appreciation for the preparatory meeting to be held in March 2016.
